Valencia gradually regaining mobility after the DANA

Metrovalencia recovers streetcar service

After the devastating effects of the DANA, Valencia is making progress on its way back to normality. One of the most significant milestones in this recovery is the return to activity of part of the Metrovalencia service.

From this Saturday, citizens will be able to use again the streetcar lines L4, L6, L8 and L10, a crucial step to restore mobility in the city and its metropolitan area. Although they are still working to recover the full metro service, this progress is great news for Valencians.

Joint efforts to ensure mobility

The President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, expressed his gratitude to all those involved in this process, highlighting the collaboration of the drivers, the Community of Madrid and the transport companies. Thanks to this joint effort, it has been possible to provide 40 additional buses connecting Valencia with municipalities such as Torrent, Lliria, Paterna and L’Eliana, thus complementing the Metrovalencia service.

In addition to these new bus lines, the Generalitat has launched 18 additional corridors to facilitate mobility in the different neighborhoods and towns near Valencia. These services connect with strategic points such as EMT, Cercanías and other Metrobus lines.

Up-to-date information available to everyone

To keep citizens informed about the state of public transport, the Generalitat has enabled an interactive map on the Metrovalencia website. This tool is updated periodically and allows to know in real time the status of the network and the available substitute services.

The return to normalcy, a gradual process

Although significant progress has been made, the full recovery of Valencia’s public transport system will still require several months of work. However, the commissioning of the streetcar lines and the extension of bus service are clear signs that the city is working tirelessly to return to normality.
