“Ripollés naked”.

“Ripollés al desnudo” is presented as an exhibition featuring the renowned Spanish artist Juan Ripollés, known for his expressionist style and his ability to capture the human essence in his work. Throughout his prolific career, Ripollés has explored the nude figure as a form of expression and emotional communication, and this exhibition brings together the lesser known works of his oeuvre. The noble hall of the Ateneo Mercantil of Valencia will host a great exhibition for all audiences of unpublished works, paintings and sculptures of the universal artist Juan Ripollés. A vital journey where you can learn about the most intimate aspects of his life and work. Upon arrival, a hologram of the artist will welcome you. Then you will see a large vertical garden where objects and personal photographs of the master coexist with paintings made with straw and corn. A small sample of the environment in which he works, surrounded by nature, his roosters and hens. You will also be able to see a preview of the short film “El beato Ripo” by Luis G. Berlanga.

The famous painter and sculptor refers to his nudity, since when working he presents himself practically naked, just as his unknown works do now. Ripollés has always had a special character, his greatest representation would be the cloth cap and the branch of rosemary in his mouth. Some may think that this is simply because of controversy or fame, but those who have followed his career know that he is not one of those artists who seek fame and money, but to live in his own way. This exhibition invites the public to delve into the depth of his career through his lesser known works, and, therefore, of lesser relevance and significance in his career. In this way, they are shown as they were when they did not succeed, without complexes. He invites us to reflect on our own nature, on our strengths and weaknesses. Through his works, the artist invites us to reconsider and value our relationship with our own body and that of others.

The exhibition will have a limited duration, the dates and schedule are from June 6 to September 29. – Mornings: Monday to Sunday from 12:00 to 14:00
– Afternoons: Monday to Saturday from 16:30 to 20:30 and Sundays from 16:30 to 18:30 The event has the collaboration in the floral artistic direction of Francis Montesinos.
