The visit begins at the Ecomuseum of Bicorp, where the guide will make a brief explanation of the prehistory and traditional life in the Caroig Massif. Then, we will move with the vehicles to the starting point of the route. The proposed route is approximately 3 km long, being a circular route, in which several stops are interspersed: the rock art shelters of Calicanto, Gineses and Charco de la Madera, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the cave-house Joaquina, of high ethnographic value.
The cave houses are a point of great ethnological interest, since they were an important form of occupation of the mountainous areas of the region until 1970. Related to the main economic activities of the area, they were gradually abandoned with the new ways of life brought about by globalization and motivated by the harshness of subsistence conditions.
They are rustic shelters integrated into the rocky landscape, in which the limestone walls were added to achieve a sheltered space within a wooded area that is a Magic Forest.
