Via ferrata del Remedio (Chelva, Valencia)

The ferrata is located in the beautiful village of Chelva, one of the most beautiful in Valencia, with its three neighborhoods: Moorish, Jewish and Christian. We will ascend the Pico del Remedio, which with its more than 1,050 meters above sea level, dominates the entire province, to the point that from the top we will see the Montgó to the southeast and the ski slopes of Javalambre to the northwest, despite being almost 200 km away. The visit can be combined with the Calles-Chelva water route, the visit to the Peña Cortada aqueduct, or nearby villages such as Chulilla.

After a short approach (15′), the ferrata begins with some easy sections. We pass inside a curious crevasse and go around a rock gendarme, which gives us impressive views.

We cross a beautiful suspension bridge and reach the 50-meter zip line.

From here, we can decide whether to continue on the easy section (K3), the medium (K4/5) or the difficult (K6). The medium section passes through an important overhang and the difficult one consists of a 30 meter wall with very few clamps and very technical, which requires climbing knowledge. In all cases, we will climb the spectacular southeast wall of Remedio to its summit, just before reaching which we will cross an incredible monkey bridge. At the end, we will be able to visit the summit watchtower, of Arabian heritage and with impressive views.

The return is immediate if we have parked at the summit, or by trail (20′) if we have parked at the sanctuary.
