Via ferrata of Peña Roya (Losa del Obispo, Valencia)

To walk this ferrata we will park in the recreational area La Canaleta, next to the village, where there are fantastic facilities (fountain, grills…).

The approach is by trail and then path, 25 minutes in total, uphill but quite comfortable.

The difficulty of this ferrata would be at level K3 (out of 6), which makes it suitable for most people, if accompanied by a guide. Physically it is not very demanding for agile people, but for those who are not used to stepping on rocks it can be difficult, as the route is designed to make the most of the relief of the rock and we will find only the right and necessary clamps. The height does not exceed 15 meters. However, it will impress us psychologically more than it seems, since the exposure does not feel that it is at a height of 15 meters, but at 150 meters below that is Losa del Obispo.

The route runs horizontally, allowing us to retreat at any time. We will overcome several sections with ceilings and overhangs under our feet, which increases the feeling of exposure. We will cross a downward staircase and a monkey bridge (a single cable for the feet and another for the hands, in addition to the life line).

The descent is made by a spectacular cantilevered rappel and the return by the same path we climbed.
