ARCHEOLOGIC GARDEN
Carrer de Guillem de Castro, 16, 46001 València
This green area rises on the old gardens of the Old Hospital. Known as such because in this place was the Old General or Provincial Hospital that with various events had its origin in the fifteenth century.
In 2009 the City Council of Valencia and the Provincial Council decided to carry out a redevelopment project of these gardens. They commissioned the Sevillian architect Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra to carry out the work, which was completed on schedule at the end of 2012.
This project was intended to safeguard the architectural elements of the old Renaissance hospital and to create a garden that would house a series of historic buildings that were built on top of them.
The result has been the creation of a large garden area located in one of the busiest areas of the city, which has been called the Archaeological Garde.
