Valencia lights up its Christmas in honor of all those affected by the DANA
The magic of Christmas comes to Valencia with a touch of sensitivity and solidarity. The traditional Christmas lights switch-on, one of the most awaited events by Valencians, will take place next December 4 as an emotional tribute to the victims of the DANA, the devastating cold drop that hit the region last October. Because of this tragedy, the Valencia City Council has decided to postpone the lighting as a show of respect and solidarity towards those affected. Instead of a big party, the event will become an emotional remembrance of those who lost their lives.
A Nativity Scene in memory
To accompany this special moment, on December 4, the Nativity Scene in the Crystal Hall of the Town Hall will also be inaugurated. This year, the Nativity Scene will include symbolic elements such as the figure of a volunteer and a white rose, in honor of those who worked tirelessly in the rescue and relief work, as well as all those who died.
An event full of emotion
Although all the details of the lighting ceremony have not yet been revealed, it is known that it will be attended by the falleras mayores of Valencia. It will be an opportunity for the whole city to unite in the same feeling of solidarity and remembrance. The streets of Valencia will be illuminated with millions of lights, creating a festive and magical atmosphere. However, this year Christmas will have a special meaning, as it will be a celebration marked by solidarity and remembrance.
