The medieval fair for the day of the Comunitat Valenciana
During this week, Valencia is transformed into a real journey into the past with the arrival of the Medieval Market 2024, as part of the events for the 9 d’Octubre. This market, the largest ever hosted by the city, will take place from October 5 to 12 in Section IX of the Turia Gardens, between the Exhibition Bridge and the Bridge of Flowers, allowing visitors to enjoy a journey through medieval times with an unparalleled atmosphere.
The medieval market offers a wide variety of free activities for the whole family, including music shows, theater, jugglers, and reenactments of dragons and banners. Visitors will be able to stroll through the streets of the ancient village, which will be filled with food and craft stalls, as well as learn first-hand about the ancient medieval trades that were fundamental to daily life at the time. This event not only seeks to entertain, but also to teach about life in the time of Jaume I and to vindicate its historical importance.
Activities and shows
During the eight days of the market, live performances will be available. Among them are the Abanderados Calvi dell’Umbria, representing the Italian medieval culture, and Galeoc, a group that highlights Irish traditions. There will also be theatrical performances for children by Pirueta Teatro, as well as live music with groups such as Upsala and the Hombre Orquesta, which will transport visitors to the magical atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
Access and schedules
The Medieval Market will be open daily from 10:30 am until midnight, offering free and easy access by public transport. The Alameda metro station, just a few meters from the event, connects with lines 3, 5, 7 and 9 of the Valencia metro, facilitating access to both locals and tourists.
This new medieval market is not only an opportunity to learn about history, but also to live a unique cultural experience. Among dragons, stilt walkers and Viking music, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the heart of the Middle Ages. This market, which will be the largest in recent years, promises to be a must for those who want to enjoy history, gastronomy and crafts in a magical setting.
