We propose a gourmet experience in which to know València with another one of your senses: taste. Because there is no better way for a place to conquer you than through the palate.
Today we travel to the village of Palmar, an idyllic place, surrounded by nature located in the Albufera Natural Park, where you will have the opportunity to admire the vegetation and fauna existing in the area, dunes, forests and marshes of the Mediterranean where they live multitude of birds.
But in this municipality you will not only find this splendid landscape, the Palmar is recognized for being the cradle of rice and therefore we recommend you to taste a Valencian paella or one of the most typical dishes in any of the rice dishes that we propose below.
Some of the best restaurants in the Albufera, or at least more famous are “Bonaire” and “Pasqualet” Places where you can undoubtedly suck your fingers with their excellent rices, dry or syrupy, or if you prefer, with the most classic paellas of meat or seafood.
The Arrocería Maribel with more than 35 years of experience offers a fusion of Valencian cuisine and signature cuisine, do not forget to try one of the most traditional entrees such as the all i pebre, a very typical dish of the place, always paired with a tasting of the best wines of the DO Valencia. An establishment with a lot of experience, where you will feel at home and discover the authentic gastronomy of the area.
In this landscape it is also possible to visit some of the typical barracks located in the town, the famous traditional houses of fishermen and gardeners built with mud and straw. At present there are few, but some of them are restored and in perfect condition. One of them is the Barraca del Palmar, which is used to celebrate events, weddings and gastronomic experiences such as a live paella show cooking.
When you finish your visit in El Palmar, we invite you to know another of the typical places of the Valencian territory, the land of the Horchata: Alboraya. Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique and complete experience at the hands of the company Horta Viva, you will know how the tiger nut is cultivated and the process of making the horchata. After a fun workshop, you will taste the horchata with fartons in an authentic horchatería located in the middle of the orchard.
To end the day, and if there is still a bit of hunger, we will have a walk through the center and taste typical dishes at the Mercado Colón, an emblematic place, full of good atmosphere, where you can enjoy the company and a rich gastronomy.
