This cultural route highlights Sorolla's relationship with his hometown through a walk through the historic center, where you will get to know his biography as a painter who worked and was inspired by València but also as a son, nephew, husband and father, thus approaching you to his most personal facet and to the places he liked to go.

Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida, the most famous and international Valencian artist, was born on February 27, 1863 in a house on Calle de las Mantas. His personal and professional relationship with the city was a constant throughout his life and determined the most characteristic features of his work.

The style of the painter stands out for the luminosity and colors of the Mediterranean, the daily scenes on the Levantine beaches or the portraits of his family, a reflection of the artist's passion for this land. Sorolla is, without a doubt, the painter of València and its light.
